Honda unveiled the Rebel 300 and Rebel 500 together in India on 24 July 2026. They share the same clean bobber DNA but have very different engines. If you’re torn between them, here’s how to choose.
Figures are from Honda’s India unveiling.

Engine & character
The Rebel 300’s single is smooth, light and easy — ideal for city riding, newer riders and anyone who values manageability. The Rebel 500’s parallel-twin is a big step up in performance: noticeably more power and torque, a twin-cylinder thrum, and far more relaxed highway cruising.
If most of your riding is urban and you value ease, the 300 is plenty. If you do regular highway miles or two-up trips, the 500’s extra muscle earns its keep.
Weight & ease
The 300 is ~19 kg lighter (172 kg vs 191 kg), which you feel at low speed, when parking, and while learning. Both share the accessible 690 mm seat height, so neither is intimidating at a stop.
Both get the good tech
Encouragingly, both bikes are offered with the same modern kit — dual-channel ABS, HSTC traction control, full-LED lighting, the India-specific TFT-style display, and the E-Clutch option. So your choice is really about engine and budget, not features.
Price & value
The Rebel 300 will be the more affordable of the two (we estimate ₹2.5–3.0 lakh); the Rebel 500 will command a premium for its twin-cylinder performance. Honda building both locally should keep the gap sensible.
The verdict
- Choose the Rebel 300 if you mostly ride in the city, are newer to cruisers, or want the lightest, most affordable option.
- Choose the Rebel 500 if you want stronger highway performance and do longer or two-up rides, and the budget stretches.
